While working with a
Windows Operating system there is always a chance that there will be a
corrupt file made which will sit in the Windows directory and thus pollute
the Video Catcher. This manifests itself in many ways, which cannot be
easily explained. Hence it is suggested that if a Video Catcher starts to
perform in an unusual fashion then a “REGEDIT” (Edit Registry) should be
performed.
The following instructions will also
change all your current settings, including passwords, back to
manufacturer's default settings. Please think twice before you decide to do
so.
With the Windows
desk top on the monitor go to “Start”

Click on
“Start” and then click on “Run”

In the text bar
type “Regedit” and click “OK”

There will be a
new window under the heading “Registry Editor”.
On the left side is a list of folders.

The second
folder on the list should be named HKEY_CURRENT_USER, click on the + sign
to open the folder.

Look for a
folder by the name “Software” and click at the + sign to open.

Look for “Video
Communication Research Inc”, put the pointer from the mouse on to these
words that will high light in blue and press “Delete” button on your
keyboard. When you are asked “Are you sure?” the answer in Yes.

Go to the
folder by the name “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”. Repeat the above instruction s of
step 4 and 5

Look for VCR
Inc. and delete this folder.

Close the
“Registry Editor” by clicking on the X in the top right hand corner.

Close the Video
Catcher if it is still running.

Open the Video
Catcher program and you are now at default conditions where all your
previous settings are now back to the factory settings and the pass words
are as follows

First level
password in all cases “1234”
-
Second level
password (access to all
controls) in all Capitals
